About Us

OUR HISTORY
Joseph (Lee) Chancey founded Chancey Metals in 1986 after learning the art of metal machining and fabrication from his father, L. Chancey Sr., while working at Chancey Trailers. Early on, Chancey Metals excelled in the intricate work of custom ornamental fencing. Lee’s commitment to excellence quickly led to the development of a first-class team of tradesmen and technical personnel that allowed the company to expanded its product offerings. This led to Chancey Metals becoming the leader in the Miscellaneous Metals Industry earning a stellar reputation matched by few others in the industry.
Lee and Mary retired in the summer of 2020 after selling Chancey Metals to another Jacksonville, FL-based firm, Geddes Enterprises. Owner Tim Geddes and CEO, Steve Jenkins have steadily built on the Chancey legacy through investments in employees, plant and equipment. The Chancey Team now encompasses over 200 professionals operating over 200,000 sq.ft. of plant manufacturing space. Chancey has the inhouse resources required to handle your most complex and demanding projects.
